— About Us
RG Action organizes young people with access to wealth and class privilege to work in solidarity with poor and working class people across race as they build the political power of social movements to realize a world where wealth, land and power are equitably shared.
We envision a world where political power is in the hands of people and communities at the frontlines of movements for racial, economic, gender, and environmental justice. A world where poor and working class people across race have the collective power to decide how resources are distributed and to shape and lead the governance of our communities at every level: local, state, and nationally.
— OUR HISTORY
HOW WE GoT HERE
We are RG Action, a political advocacy sibling organization of Resource Generation that allows us to flank our movement partners all the way to the ballot box. We started RG Action after receiving feedback again and again from our campaign partners and trusted colleagues in social justice philanthropy that engaging in elections is one critical way to support the power building of poor and working class people across race. After study and consultation, we came to the conclusion that to more fully back the leadership of those most deeply impacted by systems of oppression, we needed to add another tool to our toolkit to fight for the redistribution of wealth, land, and power.
We seek to engage in elections not just to elect better candidates, but to align ourselves with poor and working class people across race as they build the political power that will move us towards redistribution in our lifetimes. We’re joining the fight not for one electoral win, but for system-wide electoral justice.
